Bergen County YAM 2019

For the third year in a row, Bergen County celebrated Youth Art Month at the Bergen County Administration Building in Hackensack! There were 175 students from kindergarten through 12th grade who displayed their art pieces for an entire week on the first floor. On Thursday, March 21st a reception was held from 4:30 until 6:00 pm for the student artists and their families and joining the festivities were principals, superintendents, and Bergen County Freeholders. It was a wonderful afternoon for all who attended! There were snacks and drinks available for everyone, art activities set up around the room for all the kids, and plenty of smiles as students took pictures and enjoyed the art work from the ten schools who participated! We received generous donations from several art companies which enabled each student artist to receive a gift bag containing colored papers, drawing pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, acrylic paints, and more! Special thanks to Bergen County YAM Chairs Jen O’Brien and Tenley Escoffery for organizing the event. Special thanks also to the following Participating Schools and teachers: Hoover Elementary School and Washington Elementary School, Bergenfield (Teacher: Charlene Anolik), Teaneck Community Charter School, Teaneck (Teacher: Abbie Liehr-DeFeo), Bergen County Technical High School, Teterboro (Teachers: Bridget Centeno & Randi Rose-Pavese), Ralph S.
