And That's a Wrap for NJ YAM in 2019!

💞  It was an amazing year for Youth Art Month and Art Education in New Jersey ðŸ’ž

In September, New Jersey became the first state in nation to give all students access to arts education in its public schools.

New Jersey's YAM program was the recipient the 2018-2019 Claire Flanagan (Grand) Award from the Council for Art Education!  We are incredibly honored to be recognized.  We would like to express our most sincere appreciation and thanks to Past President Becky Finch, the Board, and staff members at CFAE for the recognition.  The success of New Jersey's Youth Art Month Program would not be possible without the support of many, including our hundreds of AENJ Members and the thousands of student artists and their families throughout the state.

We appreciate the support of AENJ's Executive Board: Lisa Conklin (President), Lora Durr (President Elect), Jane Graziano (Immediate Past President), Gene Neglia (Secretary), and Barbara Russo (Treasurer).

We also appreciate the support of AENJ's Board of Directors: Debbie Greh (Executive Director), Teri Trumpbour & Sue Catrone (Advocacy/Outreach), Larissa Danowitz & Megan Richards (Advisory Council), Antonia Germanos (Communications), and Tamika Diaz (Membership).

Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and recognize the support our dedicated YAM County Chairs for the 2018-2019 School Year: Lisa Confora & Kathy Nichols (Atlantic/Cape May), Jen O’Brien & Teneley Escoffery (Bergen), Ellen Hargrove (Burlington/Camden), Katina Lampropoulos, Patty Nehrbauer, & Aaron Weber (Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem), Cathy Kondreck (Essex), Martha Garcia & Kelly Wenz (Hudson), Leigh Kermizian & Barbara Weinstein (Hunterdon/Warren), Danielle Davis & Barbara Russo (Mercer), Susan Catrone & Kristen Barth (Middlesex), Colleen Ford & Alison Farrington (Monmouth), Pamela Dean & Elizabeth Wassel (Morris/Sussex), Jenna Beverly, Stephanie Kitzmiller, & Dawn Wagner (Ocean), Lisa Miller (Passaic), Susan Bivona & Lisa Conklin (Somerset), Charlotte Banks, Joanna Netta, & Carrie Russoniello (Union).  Without the hard work and dedication of these professionals, the success of New Jersey's Youth Art Month program would not be possible.

We are deeply grateful for this honor.  We ask for your continued support as we look for new ways to improve our Youth Art Month program, and to advocate for our student artists as we "Take a Journey Through Art".  We are looking forward to working with all of the above mentioned parties, new county YAM chairs, and Linda Kieling, current CFAE President.

Stay tuned for big things to celebrate New Jersey's 60th year observing Youth Art Month!
