Trenton YAM Speaker - Evan Michelson
We are excited to announce that Evan Michelson will be our guest speaker at our High School Youth Art Month State Reception in Trenton. Evan Michelson is an antiques dealer, essayist, lecturer, award-winning curator and collector of strange, rare and beautiful objects. She was the co-owner of Obscura Antiques and Oddities, a landmark in New York City’s East Village, for more than 20 years. Evan was also a star of the hit reality TV series “Oddities,” which ran for five seasons on Discovery Science, and a founding board member of Brooklyn’s Morbid Anatomy Museum. Her work has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times and The Financial Times of London. Her personal cabinet of curiosities was highlighted in the book “Morbid Curiosities: Collections of the Uncommon, and the Bizarre.

Congratulations to the Atlantic & Cape May County teachers and students whose work was selected for the 2020 State Youth Art Month Exhibit in Trenton, NJ. The exhibit will run from February 28 - March 6 in the Annex Tunnel of the State House. A closing reception/awards ceremony for Grades 9-12 will take place on March 6, beginning at 12 pm. An additional closing reception/awards ceremony for Grades K-8 will take place on March 6, beginning at 5:30 pm.
